Assistant Program Director at the National High School Institute Theatre Arts Division - Summer 2025
For the Spring & Summer of 2025, I served as the Assistant Program Director for the Cherubs Program.
In this role, I managed the academic programming, placing students in classes, supporting teaching artists, and organizing guest artist workshops. I also had the opportunity to produce a wide range of events, including faculty orientation, catered team meals, Chicago field trips, guest performances, and the program’s culminating celebration. This role taught me so much about how to be a leader, manager, and communicator. I'm very grateful to have played a part in creating a brave space for young theatre artists to practice their craft.
Faculty Associate at the National High School Institute Theatre Arts Divison - Summer 2024

Summer of 2024 I was a faculty associate at Cherubs. A theatre summer camp where I did a little bit of everything. From being a teaching assistant to assistant director, and even the glorious job of being an RA. In this job, I realized how much I enjoy teaching. I’ve found directing and teaching have a lot of similarities. In both, you plan sections of time, create community, teach new skills, and encourage collaborators. This job opened up a new path I’m curious to follow in the future.

In this course, I learned the fundamentals of teaching young artists. I learned ways to plan class time, how to run a classroom, how to translate skills, and how to model as a teacher. I got to observe classrooms and art programs across the city; including Albany Park Theatre Project, Chicago Children's Theatre, and Marwen. For this class, I developed a 10-week artist-in-residence syllabus. From that, I taught a 30-minute lesson to peers and then to a group of K-2nd graders at Chicago Children's Theatre!
